EffroyablesImposteurs.avi
EffroyablesImposteurs.srt
EffroyablesImposteurs.doc
EffroyablesImposteurs.mp3
As so often there are some very difficult bits here, the recording from the television and the song of the nutty advocate
MichelLeeb.avi
MichelLeeb.srt
MichelLeeb.doc
MichelLeeb.mp3
Of course, it's the pedantic manner that is part of the humour, which makes this very accessible
Aveux.avi
Aveux.srt
Aveux.doc
Aveux.mp3
The different voices here - the voice-over, the role-playing session and the lawyers, make it a good listening exercise at Level-2
Flingueuses.avi
Flingueuses.srt
Flingueuses.doc
Flingueuses.mp3
The dubbed voices are very clear, (these ladies are middle-class English, after all) but the delivery is quite rapid, so this makes a good Level 2 exercise
TF120HAnimaux.avi
TF120HAnimaux.srt
TF120HAnimaux.doc
TF120HAnimaux.mp3
I always find it very difficult to recognise and spell place names, and in this case, names of animals. And of course the background noise creates an interesting problem
LaurencePiquet.avi
LaurencePiquet.srt
LaurencePiquet.doc
LaurencePiquet.mp3
This is a very good Level-2 listening exercise, simply because the voices are very educated, but fast, and the content is diffuse.
Alesia.avi
Alesia.srt
Alesia.doc
Alesia.mp3
The voices are clear, but the vocabulary and style of delivery rather difficult. I had to ask one of my kind Skype-contacts what the word was that turned out to be 'faconde'. Thanks to Skype we are all faconde today.
DRA-Paris.avi
DRA-Paris.srt
DRA-Paris.doc
DRA-Paris.mp3
As always, the voice over couldn't be clearer, but I think some of the voices of people interviewed make this a Level-2
TF120HAspartame.avi
TF120HAspartame.srt
TF120HAspartame.doc
TF120HAspartame.mp3
There is a good range of voices here, quite clear, but often fast. Level-2
LandesBordelais.avi
LandesBordelais.srt
LandesBordelais.doc
LandesBordelais.mp3
We can say this is Level-2. The bordelais speech is not particularly hard to follow, except where the words are completely foreign.
GLBadinter.avi
GLBadinter.srt
GLBadinter.doc
GLBadinter.mp3
The dialogue is very clear, but fast, with some tortured sentence construction. A Level-2
Langoliers.avi
Langoliers.srt
Langoliers.doc
Langoliers.mp3
I don't think a film can ever be Level-1 - there is too much variety in tone, background sound, vocabulary etc. But this monologue is mostly  very clear.
EchappeesBelles.avi
EchappeesBelles.srt
EchappeesBelles.doc
EchappeesBelles.mp3
Don't worry about the words you miss because of the vocabulary. It's the very familiar style of speech of the presenter which is interesting here (But if you do know what it is you don't use in gourmet chocolate - let me know!)
Rafle.avi
Rafle.srt
Rafle.doc
Rafle.mp3
Obviously the interest here is more than linguistic. However, it is modtly very clear
Barnaby.avi
Barnaby.srt
Barnaby.doc
Barnaby.mp3
The dialogue is always very clear, but the fast-paced action lends a little difficulty, making it a Level-2
CeSoir.avi
CeSoir.srt
CeSoir.doc
CeSoir.mp3
Both men speak clearly, both have clearly prepared their scripts. But emotion speeds the delivery up, and occasionally clouds what is said - we have to infer what is said
TF120HNeige.avi
TF120HNeige.srt
TF120HNeige.doc
TF120HNeige.mp3
A long clip this, and all sorts of voices. Worth it for the two wonderful old guys at the end.
JLF-Béarn.avi
JLF-Béarn.srt
JLF-Béarn.doc
JLF-Béarn.mp3
Unfamiliar vocabulary is always a problem. I spent a few frustrating minutes searching on the Internet for the name of the agglomeration of three towns - BEAB.
FE-GuyGeorge.avi
FE-GuyGeorge.srt
FE-GuyGeorge.doc
FE-GuyGeorge.mp3
A wide range of voices, but the extract is clear enough. Christophe Hondelatte's voice is rapid. It's a solid Level-2 extract
TF120HFuyants.avi
TF120HFuyants.srt
TF120HFuyants.doc
TF120HFuyants.mp3
It's a good piece, this, because the two ladies interviewed speak quite indistinctly - as always, the result of emotion
RobertBoulin.avi
RobertBoulin.srt
RobertBoulin.doc
RobertBoulin.mp3
This is a level-2, but there is an interesting range of voices here, not all of which are very clear
Aquitaine.avi
Aquitaine.srt
Aquitaine.doc
Aquitaine.mp3
In fact despite the accent and the background noise, the local man's voice is fairly clear. It's a level-2
ArmeeAir.avi
ArmeeAir.srt
ArmeeAir.doc
ArmeeAir.mp3
One of the reasons for the lasting success of Michel Drucker is that recognisable voice which can be crystal clear from the cockpit of a Mirage, or familiar when interviewing people - and much less easy to follow
TF1Boulin.avi
TF1Boulin.srt
TF1Boulin.doc
TF1Boulin.mp3
On average, a level-2 with a great variety of voices in these two clips
FlorenceBunold.avi
FlorenceBunold.srt
FlorenceBunold.doc
FlorenceBunold.mp3
A pretty clear delivery, despite the background noise from the audience in this little theatre. However, I missed the last line entirely. Can you help ?
années60.avi
années60.srt
années60.doc
années60.mp3
It's mostly a Level-2, because the voice over is not completely clear. The soldier at the end is difficult to follow, though
JF_Pyrénées.avi
JF_Pyrénées.srt
JF_Pyrénées.doc
JF_Pyrénées.mp3
The local voices make this a Level-2, but not a hard one. The specialist vocabulary is a nightmare. I spent ages trying to work out what the word was that sounded like 'pog'. It was 'pog'...
AD_Dentiste.avi
AD_Dentiste.srt
AD_Dentiste.doc
AD_Dentiste.mp3
The patient, Isabelle, has exactly the sort of voice that we are training our ear to follow. I couldn't pick up her very last comment precisely. Can you ?
Années80.avi
Années80.srt
Années80.doc
Années80.mp3
This is a Level-2 which particularly challenges the ear. The intimate, literary style  makes it one of the best exercises I've come across recently
Cinema.avi
Cinema.srt
Cinema.doc
Cinema.mp3
All sorts of voices here - the quote from Cyrano is particularly interesting. Level-2 overall
Mentaliste.avi
Mentaliste.srt
Mentaliste.doc
Mentaliste.mp3
A moderate Level-2, because entertainers of this type take care to make sure that they are understood.
TF120HMortsX.avi
TF120HMortsX.srt
TF120HMortsX.doc
TF120HMortsX.mp3
As always, such a contrast between the clear voice-over and the father who speaks first.
RaynaudPasDeJustice.avi
RaynaudPasDeJustice.srt
RaynaudPasDeJustice.doc
RaynaudPasDeJustice.mp3
A great professional, Raynaud, and this voice of the '50s is exceptionally clear
TF120HUranium.avi
TF120HUranium.srt
TF120HUranium.doc
TF120HUranium.mp3
The African French accent is never very easy to follow, and that adds some linguistic interest here
FemmePolicière.avi
FemmePolicière.srt
FemmePolicière.doc
FemmePolicière.mp3
Although the (horrified) interest here is the story, it also makes a good listening exercise
RomySchneider.avi
RomySchneider.srt
RomySchneider.doc
RomySchneider.mp3
A nice range of voices here, the voice-over, and the various people who knew her, including Jane Birkin with her lovely voice and awful grammar
20HEducation.avi
20HEducation.srt
20HEducation.doc
20HEducation.mp3
Mostly straightforward, with some more challenging bits from kids and teachers
20HLitterature.avi
20HLitterature.srt
20HLitterature.doc
20HLitterature.mp3
Voices ranging from the voice-over to the - as always - pretty much incomprehensible voices of young people
20HFoot.avi
20HFoot.srt
20HFoot.doc
20HFoot.mp3
Two beautifully written pieces here, and the voices of supporters and Domenech
EllesOntSuivi.avi
EllesOntSuivi.srt
EllesOntSuivi.doc
EllesOntSuivi.mp3
They speak clearly, these old ladies, but nonetheless one has to infer much of what is said.
ES_AloeVera.avi
ES_AloeVera.srt
ES_AloeVera.doc
ES_AloeVera.mp3
Most of this is very much Level-1. Until perhaps the couple at the end who farm the plant.
Bardot.avi
Bardot.srt
Bardot.doc
Bardot.mp3
It's a nice extract for the site, because of the contrast between the voice over, the voice of Bardot and the very difficult film extract towards the end
TF120HSportifs.avi
TF120HSportifs.srt
TF120HSportifs.doc
TF120HSportifs.mp3
An odd subject, but a good listening exercise, because of the voices of these ex-athletes.
Tosca.avi
Tosca.srt
Tosca.doc
Tosca.mp3
A range of voices here, but quite clear and a modest Level-2

Giraudeau.avi
Giraudeau.srt
Giraudeau.doc
Giraudeau.mp3
This is an excellent extract for listening practice. In fact, the voices are clear, but they are fast, and they speak at the same time. Disentangling the sense is a particular trick we have to practise.
SousSoleil.avi
SousSoleil.srt
SousSoleil.doc
SousSoleil.mp3
It took me a while to make this transcription - not so much catching the words, but looking up the special name references on the Internet. Names are a real problem.
Fourvière.avi
Fourvière.srt
Fourvière.doc
Fourvière.mp3
The voice-over, while clear, uses a rather specialised vocabulary, at once historical and religious. We should have all types of French speech here, after all
TF120HHarcelement.avi
TF120HHarcelement.srt
TF120HHarcelement.doc
TF120HHarcelement.mp3
I chose this for the voices of the women interviewed. Actually, fairly clear. The programme makers want the voices to be understood.
JeanneD'Arc.avi
JeanneD'Arc.srt
JeanneD'Arc.doc
JeanneD'Arc.mp3
The voice of the French lady expert is fascinating, because her pronunciation is occasionally at odds with the words (I think) she is saying. Listen to the sentence starting with 'Ca peut ressembler'
